In Preferences window you set up the preferences of the program. Most of these are saved in the registry so they are project-independent. If you click The windows is split into tabs which we will describe below.

General

In General tab you can set:

  • Incremental saving: enables or disables incremental saving.
  • Check for updates: whether the program checks online if there is a new version available. Please note: we anonymously track these checks.
  • Vsync: enables or disables vertical sync.
  • Max console entries: at the moment not used
  • Max log entries: the max number of entries in the Log window in the program. The entries in the log files are unlimited.
  • FPS damping: the damping of FPS display. This affects how fast the FPS display on the top right corner changes. This was introduced because if FPS jumped up and down too quickly the user couldn’t read the numbers.
  • Render time damping: similar to FPS damping
  • Disc operations time: how often do the log entries get written to the disc. Log entries get written in batches.

Viewport

In Viewport tab you can set:

  • Show grid: whether to show grid or not
  • Grid color: the color of the grid
  • Show gizmo: whether to show the gizmo or not
  • Background color: the color of the viewport background

WebUI

In the WebUI tab, you can set the parameters Lightact’s interaction with WebUIs. For example:

  • Hostname sets the hostname. When you purchase a Pro server it will already come with a pre-configured laweb host.
  • Username for the database access. In every Pro server, you have a Lightact user set up.
  • Password for the database access. The password for the Lightact user is YouaresoLA.
  • Database should be the name of the database. lightact is the name of the database that is already set up on every Pro server.

eDMX

In the eDMX tab you can set the framerate of Art-Net sending. The default is 44 Hz.

LightNet

In LightNet you can set up LightNet and LightSync Broadcast port and LightSync’s Multicast IP and Multicast port.

License

In License tab you can see the Dongle ID, if you have it connected, and the license that’s baked onto it.
