What is Lightact?
Lightact is a software and optionally hardware media server solution.
What kind of outputs does it have?
Lightact can output video or one of eDMX protocols. Video is output through graphic card outputs and eDMX is output through Ethernet. Lightact can also send TCP, UDP or OSC messages.
How many outputs do Lightact servers have?
All Lightact servers come with four 5K outputs.
What are minimum system requirements?
- Windows 8 or newer
- 4GB RAM
- 1GB of free disk space
- A dedicated graphics card (NVidia GeForce 740 or equivalent should be considered a minimum)
- Kinect SDK v2
- Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 for 64bit
- Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 for 64bit
What are recommended system requirements?
- 8GB RAM or more
- an SSD hard drive
- NVidia Quadro P2000 or better. Lightact does most of the processing on GPU, so better GPUs have a big influence on performance.
Is Lightact really free?
Yes, it is free, but the free version has outputs watermarked or blocked. You can work and save your project without limitations, so it is 100% ready for when the project is getting installed.
Do you have software-only version?
Yes, we do. It is called Lightact Start.
How can Lightact connect with physical world?
Lightact can receive UDP or TCP or OSC messages, which can originate from sensors. Also, you can grab video streams from IP or USB cameras or depths sensors such as Kinect and run computer vision algorithms on it.
Do you have a real-time rendering engine?
Yes, we do. It’s called Layer Layouts.
What is Layer Layouts?
Layer Layouts is Lightact’s visual scripting engine. It’s a node-based tool where you create real-time content.
Can I visualize my project in Lightact?
Yes, you can. You can import 3D objects into Lightact and apply textures to them for visualization.
